Q : How many new undergraduate students are accepted each academic year?

A : 100 eligible applicants per each program, pharmaceutical care and pharmaceutical science.

Q : Is it required that the applicants must graduate only from a mathematics-sciences program in high school?

A : From 2022 academic year, there are no such requirements for credits in mathematics and sciences.

Q : How much knowledge in basic sciences is required for the first year?

A : First year students will learn basic mathematics, chemistry, and biology. Once enrolled, the knowledge will be further explored in a medical context.

Q : When does the semester start and end in each academic year?

A : Start and end dates of the semester system follow Chulalongkorn University Directive’s calendar.

The first semester break is from mid-December to early January.
The second semester break is from the end of May to early August unless there is further announcement from Chulalongkorn University.

First year and second year students will have a semester break and summer break.
Third year and fourth year students are required to perform professional practice during the summer semester break.
Fifth year and sixth year students are required to perform professional practice throughout the year.

Q : Is age a limitation to study at Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences?

A : Age is not a limitation to study here. There were many graduates from other fields who graduated with Doctor of Pharmacy in time and had a good relationship with friends and instructors.

Q : Are there any dual-degree programs available for undergraduate students?

A : We are In the process of developing cross-disciplinary courses between

     1) Doctor of Pharmacy in Pharmaceutical Sciences (updated in B.E. 2563) together with Master of Engineering in Industrial Engineering

    2) Doctor of Pharmacy in Pharmaceutical Care (updated in B.E. 2563)/ Pharmaceutical Sciences (updated in B.E. 2563) together with Master of Engineering in Computer Science

Q : How will the examination be conducted?

A : During the pandemic, we have conducted many types of assessments online such as individual and group report, take-home examination or other assessments assigned by the instructors.

Q : What is the teaching and learning style at Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences?

A : We provide both lectures and laboratory experiments to encourage student-centered learning, group discussion and promote technology-based learning. We also invite experts and speakers in many fields to share and exchange with the students at times.

Q : How can I find the requirements for application for admission to bachelor’s degree at Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences?

A : You can look up an announcement from the registration department.

Q : If I want to apply for the portfolio round, what tests do I need and what programs can I apply for?

A : An applicant must be qualified to have a certificate of passing the 2nd round of training according to the curriculum of the Promotion of Academic Olympiads and Development of Science Education Foundation under the patronage of Her Royal Highness Princess Galyani Vadhana Krom Luang Naradhiwas Rajanagarindra (POSN) and was selected to be a representative to compete in National Olympiads in biology or chemistry.

Q : Can I pursue a career in different fields to the course of study?

A : The pharmacy license does not specify the major; therefore, the pharmacy graduates can work in a field different to the course of study. However, the pharmacy license examination has specific competency criteria depending on the course of study and the internship.

Q : Are there internship programs aboard?

A : We provide programs aboard to enhance your experiences in both short course (1-3 weeks) and a period of 1-3 month(s) depending on your own interests. Now, we have collaboration with the United States, United Kingdom, Japan, China, and Taiwan.

Q : How many internships do I need to complete, and how long?

A : The requirements are 160 hours for third-year students in the summer, and 200 hours for fourth-year students in the summer session. Fifth-year students shall start the internship in the summer session and throughout the sixth academic year with not less than 1600 hours.

Q : Are there scholarships provided for students who have financial problems?

A : We have scholarships to support the students. You can ask for more information from department of student affairs.

Q : What is the tuition fee of Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences?
